Bihar Police Bust Bizarre Cyber Fraud Scheme Promising ₹10 Lakh for Impregnating Women

In an unusual and shocking case of cyber fraud, Bihar police have uncovered a scam in which victims were lured with promises of ₹10 lakh as a reward for impregnating women. The bizarre racket, operating out of multiple districts, came to light after several victims reported being duped of large sums of money.

The police have arrested three individuals allegedly involved in the scheme. According to officials, the fraudsters targeted unsuspecting men by advertising the "scheme" on social media and through bulk messages. They claimed to represent a "medical research program" where participants would be paid handsomely for donating their "services" to help women conceive.

Victims were asked to pay various fees under the pretense of registration, legal formalities, and background verification. Once the payments were made, the fraudsters would cut off all communication, leaving victims bewildered and penniless.

"Initially, the idea seemed absurd, but the professional manner in which the scheme was presented made it believable," said one of the victims who lost ₹50,000 in the scam. Another victim shared how he was pressured to make repeated payments, which the fraudsters claimed were refundable.

Following a detailed investigation, police tracked the operation to a gang working across Bihar. The arrested individuals were found with multiple fake IDs, forged documents, and mobile phones used to carry out the scam. Authorities believe the group had already duped dozens of people and amassed several lakhs.

"This is one of the most unusual cyber fraud cases we have come across," said a senior police official. "The perpetrators took advantage of people’s financial desperation and curiosity. We are now working to identify other members of the gang and recover stolen money."

The incident has raised concerns about the increasing sophistication of cyber frauds in rural and semi-urban areas, where digital literacy remains low. Police have urged the public to remain cautious of offers that seem too good to be true and to report any suspicious activities immediately.

As the investigation continues, the victims are hoping for justice and the recovery of their hard-earned money. Meanwhile, the case has sparked widespread discussions about the need for greater awareness to prevent such elaborate scams in the future.
