The Indian government has formally expressed concern to U.S. authorities following disturbing accounts from Indian nationals who claim they faced harsh treatment during deportation. The issue has sparked a diplomatic conversation about the humane treatment of deportees, even as a separate political storm brews in the capital with Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal being served a legal notice over fresh corruption allegations.  

According to multiple reports, several Indians deported from the U.S. in recent weeks allege they were subjected to undue force, prolonged detention in cramped facilities, and denial of basic necessities before being sent back. Many of them were workers who had overstayed their visas. The Ministry of External Affairs has sought an explanation from American officials, emphasizing that while India respects U.S. immigration laws, the dignity of its citizens must be upheld. "We have raised the matter through proper channels and expect fair treatment for all individuals, regardless of their immigration status," said an official spokesperson.  

The allegations have drawn sharp reactions from migrant rights groups, who argue that deportation procedures should not strip individuals of their basic rights. Activists are calling for stricter oversight of detention conditions and clearer protocols to prevent abuse. "These are human beings, not criminals. There's a right way to handle such situations," said a representative from a migrant welfare organization.  

Meanwhile, in a development that has sent ripples through Delhi's political circles, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has been slapped with a legal notice by a former contractor who accuses him of soliciting bribes. The complainant, a businessman, alleges that Kejriwal's associates demanded a 10% cut to clear pending payments for government projects. The Aam Aadmi Party has dismissed the claims as baseless and politically motivated, with senior leaders suggesting the timing is suspicious ahead of crucial elections. "This is nothing but a smear campaign to derail our anti-corruption agenda," said a party spokesperson.  

Legal experts note that while the notice does not constitute formal charges, it could lead to a deeper investigation if substantiated. The allegations come at a sensitive time for Kejriwal, who has positioned himself as a crusader against graft but now faces renewed scrutiny over his administration's dealings.
