U.P. CM Yogi Adityanath Emphasizes Constitution’s Role in Upholding Justice, Equality, and Fraternity
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, in a powerful address during a public event on Wednesday, highlighted the enduring significance of India’s Constitution in guiding the nation toward justice, equality, and fraternity. His speech, delivered on the eve of Constitution Day, resonated with citizens and leaders alike, as he called for collective efforts to uphold the values enshrined in the foundational document.
“The Constitution of India is not just a legal framework; it is the soul of our nation. It inspires us to strive for justice, equality, and fraternity, ensuring that every citizen, regardless of their background, has the opportunity to thrive,” said CM Yogi, addressing a gathering of students, activists, and government officials in Lucknow.
The Chief Minister emphasized the importance of understanding and respecting the Constitution, particularly in a diverse and pluralistic society like India. “Our Constitution was crafted by visionaries like Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, who understood the challenges of a nation as vast and varied as ours. It is our duty to protect its principles and ensure they are reflected in our actions,” he added.
CM Yogi also spoke about the state government’s initiatives aimed at promoting social justice and inclusivity. He cited schemes such as free ration distribution, housing for the underprivileged, and scholarships for marginalized communities as examples of how the Constitution’s ideals are being implemented on the ground.
The event, organized by the Uttar Pradesh government, included a reading of the Preamble and discussions on the Constitution’s relevance in contemporary times. Students from various schools and colleges participated enthusiastically, showcasing posters and essays on constitutional values.
Political leaders and social activists praised CM Yogi’s speech, calling it a timely reminder of the Constitution’s role in shaping India’s democracy. “In today’s polarized world, it is heartening to see leaders reaffirm their commitment to the Constitution’s core values. This is the foundation of a strong and united India,” said social worker Anjali Singh.
However, some opposition leaders urged the government to ensure that these principles are upheld in practice, not just in words. “The Constitution guarantees equality and justice for all, but we must ensure that these promises are fulfilled for every citizen, especially those from marginalized communities,” said a spokesperson from the Samajwadi Party.
As the event concluded, CM Yogi urged citizens to take inspiration from the Constitution and work toward building a society rooted in harmony and mutual respect. “Let us pledge to uphold the values of our Constitution and strive to create a nation where justice, equality, and fraternity are not just ideals but a way of life,” he said.
The speech has sparked a renewed conversation about the Constitution’s relevance in modern India, with many hoping that its principles will continue to guide the nation’s progress in the years to come.
