Train to Mahakumbh Attacked with Stones, Passengers Left Shaken

In a distressing turn of events, a train carrying passengers to the sacred Mahakumbh was attacked by unidentified individuals who pelted stones at the moving train. The incident, which occurred late Monday evening, left several windowpanes shattered and passengers visibly shaken.

One of the passengers, who captured the aftermath on their mobile phone, shared images of the damaged windows and narrated the chaos that unfolded. "We were all excited and spiritually prepared for the journey, but this act of violence has left us scared and anxious," the passenger said.

The attack reportedly occurred as the train passed through a remote section of the route. Passengers described hearing loud thuds, followed by the sound of breaking glass. While no serious injuries were reported, a few individuals sustained minor cuts from the shattered glass.

Railway authorities were quick to condemn the incident, assuring passengers that security has been intensified along vulnerable stretches. "We are taking this matter very seriously. Such acts of vandalism not only endanger lives but also tarnish the sanctity of the pilgrimage journey," a senior official stated.

Police have launched an investigation to identify those responsible. Early reports suggest that miscreants from nearby areas could be involved. Efforts are underway to increase patrolling and surveillance to prevent further incidents.

The Mahakumbh, a once-in-12-years spiritual gathering, attracts millions of pilgrims from across the country. For many, the journey is an integral part of their devotion. However, incidents like this have raised concerns over passenger safety and the need for better security measures.

Despite the unfortunate event, passengers remained resolute in their faith, continuing their journey to the holy event. "This will not dampen our spirit or devotion," said another passenger. "But we hope no one else has to go through such an ordeal."
