The investigation into the alleged attack on Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan has taken an unexpected turn, with authorities uncovering a potential connection to a woman from Nadia district in West Bengal. The revelation has added a new layer of complexity to the case, which has already been shrouded in mystery since the incident occurred last week.  

According to sources close to the investigation, the woman, identified as Priya Das (name changed), is believed to have been in contact with the prime suspect, Rakesh Sharma, who remains at large. Sharma, who allegedly orchestrated the attack on Saif Ali Khan outside a Mumbai restaurant, is said to have known Priya for several years.  

“Priya Das is not directly involved in the attack, but her association with Sharma has raised questions. We are investigating whether she had any prior knowledge of the incident or if she played a role in facilitating Sharma’s escape,” said a senior police official.  

The connection came to light after authorities traced Sharma’s phone records and discovered multiple calls between him and Priya in the days leading up to the attack. A team of Mumbai Police has been dispatched to Nadia to question Priya and gather more information about Sharma’s whereabouts.  

Locals in Nadia have expressed shock over the development, describing Priya as a quiet and reserved individual. “She keeps to herself and has never been involved in any controversy. This news has come as a complete surprise to everyone here,” said a neighbor.  

Meanwhile, Saif Ali Khan has maintained a low profile since the incident, refraining from making any public statements. His spokesperson reiterated that the actor is cooperating fully with the investigation and hopes for a swift resolution.  

The case has sparked widespread debate about the safety of celebrities and the challenges of investigating high-profile incidents. “This twist highlights how complex such cases can be. It’s not just about catching the culprits but also understanding the motives and connections behind the crime,” said legal expert Ravi Verma.  

As the investigation unfolds, all eyes are on Nadia, where the Mumbai Police team is expected to uncover more details about Sharma’s network and his alleged plans. For now, the case remains a puzzle, with the hope that the truth will soon come to light.
