Republic Day 2025: PM Modi Calls for Renewed Commitment to Uphold Constitutional Ideals

As the nation celebrated its 76th Republic Day with grandeur and patriotic fervor, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed hope that the occasion would reinforce collective efforts to uphold the ideals of the Indian Constitution. In his address to the nation during the Republic Day parade at Kartavya Path, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of unity, justice, and equality in shaping India’s future.

“The Constitution of India is not just a document; it is the soul of our nation. It guides us, inspires us, and reminds us of our duties as citizens,” PM Modi said, addressing a diverse audience that included dignitaries, schoolchildren, and armed forces personnel. “On this historic day, let us renew our pledge to protect and preserve the values enshrined in our Constitution.”

The Republic Day celebrations, marked by a spectacular parade showcasing India’s cultural diversity and military might, were attended by thousands of citizens and foreign delegates. This year’s chief guest was French President Emmanuel Macron, highlighting the growing strategic partnership between India and France.

In his speech, PM Modi reflected on India’s journey since the adoption of the Constitution in 1950, acknowledging the challenges and triumphs that have shaped the nation. He also paid tribute to the framers of the Constitution, particularly Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, whose vision and leadership laid the foundation for a democratic and inclusive India.

“Our Constitution is a living testament to the dreams of our freedom fighters and the aspirations of every Indian. It is our responsibility to ensure that these ideals are not just words on paper but a reality for every citizen,” the Prime Minister added.

The celebrations also featured a special focus on youth empowerment and technological innovation, with themes highlighting India’s advancements in space exploration, renewable energy, and digital infrastructure. A tableau showcasing the success of the ‘Digital India’ initiative received widespread applause, symbolizing the nation’s progress in the 21st century.

As the day concluded with the Beating Retreat ceremony at Vijay Chowk, PM Modi’s message resonated deeply with citizens across the country. “Republic Day is not just a celebration of our past; it is a call to action for our future. Let us work together to build an India that is strong, inclusive, and true to the spirit of our Constitution,” he urged.

The 2025 Republic Day celebrations served as a reminder of India’s enduring democratic values and its commitment to justice, liberty, and equality for all. As the nation moves forward, the ideals of the Constitution continue to guide its path toward a brighter and more prosperous future.
