The National Investigation Agency (NIA) carried out a series of raids across 19 locations in multiple states, including Jammu & Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, Assam, and Rajasthan, on December 12, 2024. These coordinated operations were part of an intensified effort to dismantle a Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) terror network suspected of planning attacks and spreading radical ideology.

The raids targeted individuals believed to be associated with JeM's recruitment and propaganda machinery. Investigators seized electronic devices, documents, and other materials that could provide critical evidence in the ongoing probe. Officials have stated that the operation is part of a larger strategy to curtail attempts by terrorist groups to radicalize youth and expand their influence in the region.

Among those under scrutiny are individuals allegedly involved in financing terror activities and providing logistical support to the banned organization. The NIA’s actions stem from intelligence inputs linking these suspects to a broader conspiracy aimed at disrupting national security.

This nationwide crackdown follows the arrest of key JeM operative Sheikh Sultan Salah Uddin Ayubi earlier this year. Ayubi is accused of orchestrating propaganda campaigns and recruiting vulnerable individuals into the group's fold. The NIA believes that the information gathered during these raids will be pivotal in unearthing the full extent of JeM's plans and operations in India.

The agency has reiterated its commitment to ensuring that such terror networks are completely dismantled and has emphasized the importance of inter-state cooperation in counterterrorism efforts.
