Priyanka Gandhi and Rajnath Singh Engage in Heated Debate on Constitution in Parliament

New Delhi, December 20, 2024: A fiery exchange between Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh dominated a debate on constitutional values in Parliament today. The debate, part of the Constitution Day discussions, turned contentious when Gandhi accused the government of undermining democratic institutions and constitutional principles.

“The very fabric of our Constitution is being eroded by authoritarian policies and neglect of democratic accountability,” Gandhi asserted. She questioned the ruling BJP's handling of parliamentary procedures and alleged an overreach in executive powers.

In response, Singh fired back, accusing the Congress party of hypocrisy. “It is ironic to hear about democracy and constitutional values from a party that has repeatedly misused Article 356 to topple state governments. Let us not forget history,” he remarked.

The clash escalated as members from both sides joined the heated discussion, prompting Speaker Om Birla to intervene and restore order. The debate highlighted deep political divides ahead of the upcoming general elections.

Allu Arjun Detained, Released on Interim Bail in Connection with Stampede Incident

Hyderabad, December 20, 2024: Telugu superstar Allu Arjun was briefly detained on Thursday in connection with the tragic stampede during a screening of his film Pushpa 2: The Rule. The incident, which occurred on December 4 at a theater in Hyderabad, claimed the life of a woman and left her young son critically injured.

Arjun was taken into custody after an FIR accused him, his security team, and the theater management of negligence in crowd control. The FIR alleged that the actor’s appearance at the event was not properly coordinated with local authorities, leading to overcrowding and chaos.

Following his detention, the Telangana High Court granted Arjun interim bail. The court acknowledged his cooperation in the investigation and required him to submit a personal bond of ₹50,000.

Expressing his condolences, Arjun announced financial support of ₹25 lakh to the victim’s family and committed to covering the medical expenses of the injured boy. The actor, addressing the media, said, “I am deeply saddened by this tragic incident. My team and I are fully cooperating with the investigation.”

The case has reignited discussions about the safety protocols at celebrity events and the accountability of organizers in preventing such tragedies.
