Allu Arjun was released on bail after spending a night in Hyderabad

Telugu superstar Allu Arjun was granted bail on December 14, 2024, following his overnight stay in Chanchalguda Central Jail in Hyderabad. The actor was arrested in connection with a stampede that occurred during the December 4 screening of his latest film, Pushpa 2: The Rule. The tragic incident resulted in the death of a 35-year-old woman, Revathi, and left her young son critically injured.

Arjun was detained after the victim's family filed a complaint, alleging that his surprise appearance at the screening led to overcrowding and insufficient safety measures. The FIR charged him, along with his security team and the theater management, with culpable homicide not amounting to murder.

The actor was initially remanded to 14 days of judicial custody by a local court. However, his legal team successfully secured interim bail from the Telangana High Court later that evening. Despite the court's decision, procedural delays meant that Arjun had to spend the night in jail before being released the next morning.

During his time in custody, Arjun reportedly adhered to all jail protocols and did not request any special privileges. His brief stint in jail has sparked widespread discussion about the responsibilities of public figures and organizers in ensuring crowd safety during large-scale events.

In a public statement following his release, Arjun expressed his grief over the tragedy, announcing financial assistance of ₹25 lakh for the victim's family and pledging to cover the medical expenses for the injured child.

The incident has prompted calls for stricter safety protocols at public events, particularly those involving high-profile celebrities. As the investigation continues, fans and the film fraternity await further updates on the case.
