Statewide Crackdown in West Bengal: 49 Firearms Seized, 43 Arrested

In a decisive move to curb violence, authorities in West Bengal launched a comprehensive statewide operation, resulting in the seizure of 49 firearms and the arrest of 43 individuals suspected of involvement in various criminal activities. The crackdown carried out over the past 24 hours, targeted known hotspots and areas with rising crime rates.

The operation was spearheaded by a special task force comprising local police and intelligence agencies. It aimed to dismantle networks involved in illegal arms trade and gang-related violence. Among the seized items were country-made pistols, sophisticated revolvers, and a substantial quantity of ammunition. Officials also recovered other incriminating materials linked to criminal syndicates. 

 

"Maintaining law and order is our utmost priority," said a senior official involved in the operation. "This coordinated effort demonstrates our commitment to ensuring the safety and security of the citizens of West Bengal."
