Canadian MP Chandra Arya Condemns Attacks on Hindu Temples
Ottawa, November 9, 2024 — Chandra Arya, Member of Parliament for Nepean, has condemned
the alarming rise in attacks on Hindu temples across Canada. In a statement today, Arya, a supporter
of multiculturalism and religious tolerance, expressed his serious concerns about the violence targeting
the Hindu community.
"We cannot stand by while places of worship are desecrated, as these acts breed division and hatred,"
Arya said. "These attacks violate the sanctity of religious spaces and undermine the core values of
respect and coexistence that define Canada."
The recent incidents have sparked outrage among community leaders and advocacy groups. Arya,
of Indian descent, emphasized the need for unity and called for stronger protections for religious
institutions.
"We must ensure every community feels safe and respected," he asserted. "The increase in these
attacks is unacceptable, and I stand with the Hindu community in condemning such violence."
Arya has committed to working with law enforcement and officials to enhance the safety of religious
minorities across Canada. While the government has yet to release a formal statement, discussions
to improve security at places of worship are underway.
His condemnation has been praised by community leaders calling for a united front against hate-based
violence in all forms. Together, we must uphold dignity and respect for all.
